WHAT PAtients SAY

‘Very positive outpatient department experience with you today.

No delays, the nurse was totally gorgeous. The surgeon listened and was gentle and also lovely.’

The clinic offers patient-centred confidential services to women experiencing urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, recurrent urinary infections, voiding difficulties especially following childbirth.

It is a consultant-led service and the dedicated team is supported by well trained and experienced specialist nurses and physiotherapists. The team organises a comprehensive set of investigations and provides tailor-made treatments for managing pelvic floor dysfunction. We also have close contacts with leading urologists both in the field of female and general urology as they complement the work we do.

Some of the conservative treatments offered include pelvic floor exercises, bladder re-training and insertion of vaginal pessaries for pelvic organ prolapse. Medical and surgical treatments are routinely offered for women with urinary incontinence. Moreover, bladder installations for recurrent urinary infections and self-catheterisation training for women with voiding difficulties are regularly arranged.

The clinic has a  dedicated urodynamic room where diagnostic tests are carried out including bladder scanning and urodynamics to monitor bladder function. We liaise closely with the gynaecology ward to ensure that post-operative patients are closely monitored and followed up appropriately.  We also have good links with local GP's and regularly offer guidance and support to them.
